Burberry Men’s Heritage Watches

Burberry-Heritage-Watches

To re-create a classic line of watches for the modern wearer, Burberry’s designers added fashionable details, such as geometric faces, but had the timepieces built in Switzerland, a country with a storied watchmaking history. While styles vary from polished, silver-tone-bracelet watches to a rugged, military-look leather watch, each incorporates user-friendly features and durable dial windows.

Burberry has long focused on functional, durable pieces. At his Hampshire shop in the 1850s, Thomas Burberry outfitted hunters and fishermen in rugged gear. He designed a breathable cotton blend wound so tightly it could resist moisture and rips. Officially, it was called gabardine, but in common parlance, hunters, farmers, pub keepers, and even King Edward VII called it “Burberry.” At the onset of World War I, the inventor used the fabric for a waterproof trench coat. Decorated with Burberry’s signature tartan print, the style remains a staple of the brand today. Despite these ties to tradition, Burberry’s creative team lives by the motto Prorsum, Latin for “forward.” Their repetoire of time-tested classics—now expanded to include apparel and accessories—are continually updated to incorporate new silhouettes and modern technology.
