A Luxurious Version Of Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph 1000 Limited Edition Watches

The Montblanc-owned Minerva factory has been producing instrument watches for use by professionals for over a hundred years. After launching its first chronograph in 1908, the company quickly followed in 1911 with a stopwatch that could measure 1/5th of a second, subsequently improving to 1/10th of a second and breaking the 1/100th of a second barrier just five years later in 1916. It was only relatively recently, however, in 2012, that Montblanc Men’s Watch conquered the mechanical measurement of 1/1000th of a second. The brand did so in style, however, presenting a watch (the Timewriter II Chronographe Bi-Fréquence 1000) with two independent balance wheels in the calibre MB M66.26 movement. The time display is governed by a conventional balance with screws that oscillates at 18,000 vibrations per hour, whereas the chronograph is governed by a separate balance that is both smaller (6mm diameter instead of 11.4mm) and devoid of screws. This second balance oscillates at 360,000 vibrations per hour (50Hz), which allows the measurement of elapsed times to 1/1000th of a second.A Luxurious Version Of Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph 1000 Limited Edition Watches

Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph Watch C’est justement ce calibre MB M66.26 qui est la star de la nouvelle collection TimeWalker pour 2017. Il se It is this calibre MB M66.26 that is the star of the new TimeWalker collection for 2017, housed in the Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph 1000 Limited Edition. Only 18 pieces of this high-tech chronograph will be produced, with a black DLC-coated titanium case and black dial. Because of the high accuracy of the chronograph, the read-out is a little different from what you might be used to. The central red hands measures 1/100ths of a second and completes one revolution of the dial per second (read against the outer scale on the dial), while the two hands on the sub-dial at 6 o’clock record the elapsed seconds (0-60 on the outer scale) and minutes (0-15 on the inner scale). The 1/1000th of a second is indicated in a sectorial aperture at 12 o’clock, with an arrow stopping on the scale from 0-9. The time is displayed by the familiar Dauphine hour and minutes hands of the TimeWalker collection, with a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, opposite which is a power reserve indicator for the 45 minutes of chronograph operation (which can be increased while the chronograph is in operation by simply turning the crown anticlockwise).

Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph UTC
Black with red accents is the theme that has been set by the flagship model and it is continued with elegant aplomb on the new TimeWalker Chronograph UTC. The black DLC case is complemented by a black ceramic rotating bezel with the 24-hour scale for a third time zone indication in addition to the central 24-hour hand. The chronograph indicators are aligned vertically against the background of the black dial with the elapsed hours shown at 6 o’clock and the minutes at 12 o’clock. A perforated black rubber strap with black folding clasp completes this stealthy look. Timekeeping is ensured by the Montblanc calibre MB 25.03 self-winding movement with 46 hours of power reserve.
